Farmhouse Apron Hanger

When my daughters talked me into helping them sew aprons, we needed a place to hang them. I knew that I didn’t want to just put some hooks into the wall of my farmhouse kitchen so I searched for a weathered board to paint and hang the aprons from. Here are the easy steps!

Here’s all you need:

  • a board
  • a computer print out
  • a sheet of carbon paper
  • paint brush
  • craft paint
  • 220 sandpaper
  • sealer
  • a picture hanger

Center print out on your board. Tape the top and bottom. Place the carbon paper, black side down, underneath. Trace the letters and pictures. Remove the printout and carbon paper. Paint the letters and pictures with craft paint. After it dries, lightly sand to make it look weathered. Then spray it with a sealer. Polyurethane does take on an amber tint. Keep that in mind if you are using bright white. A water based sealer is clear. Add a hanger to the back and hooks or colorful knobs to the bottom! Enjoy!
