Fixing Cracked Plaster and Filling large holes
After the wallpaper in this room was removed, I noticed several cracks in the plaster. Plaster is the old way of building walls. A series of 1/4″ x 2″ wide slat boards were nailed over the wall studs and then plaster was smeared and smoothed over it. Do to a home settling or structural issues, the plaster can crack. Unless the plaster is cracked to point of crumbling, it can be easily fixed. Here’s a video on how to repair cracked plaster and fill holes in plaster.

Utility knife
drywall mud
spatula
sanding block
120 grit sandpaper
primer
roller, paint pan, paint brush

My husband and I just had to do this for our house. One spot was on a corner and it took a lot of patience. LOL
